Legal terminology The Washington Post story on the guilty plea of Enron's Kopper notes that this could spell trouble for other Enron execs such as Fastow, whom Kopper can likely implicate. I mention it mainly because I would like it if someday I could give a quote to the Post that is as funny as this:
"In my estimation, Fastow is what we call in the law 'dead meat,' " said David Berg, a Houston defense lawyer who is not involved in the case.
I actually was quoted once in the Post some years ago, but it was only because a former babysitter of mine, who had become a reporter, was looking for an Alabama lawyer to spout off on something and I happened to be the first person to return her call. Fame is fleeting. And I was entirely too serious, thinking in my youth that this was required. Now I know better.
